New Band of The Day: Bacchus

I figure that every day, since I download at least one new band's EP or something daily, I'd write a post about a band that I got today that I like. I only downloaded one thing today, which is a self-titled album by Bacchus.

Some of the songs didn't sync to my iPod, which is weird, but it's all chill.

The songs I do have on my iPod are awesome songs. The vocals are epic. I would listen to them all day.

Anyway, I just thought I'd write this. My next post will be about the band Ceremony. EPICNEZZ =3

Precious Memories (9)

After I'd finished explaining Caylee's story to Leah, we lay in silence. I watched the ceiling, half expecting it to turn into a swirling black hole and devour us. I blinked. Suddenly, everything went black.

With my recent experience, this was not a coma. I simply passed out. I lay there in the dark for 5 minutes before waking up again. Leah was sitting up next to me, watching me. When I'd opened my eyes, she yelled, "Daniel!"

I laughed. "Hey, Leah."

"Danny..." Leah said, sighing.

"What's wrong, babe?" I asked.

"I-i...I'm moving." she replied, tears spilling over.

I sat up. I put one arm around her and held her for a minute. "It's gonna be okay, Leah. Alright? I love you. Baby, don't cry."

She cried more, soaking my shirt. I had an idea. "Lei?" I asked, calling her by her nickname.

She didn't even look at me. I continued. "Would you feel better if I kissed you?"

She still didn't look at me. But she nodded. I kissed her cheek. I wiped her tears. "Leah, please. Don't cry."

Soon, we lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling again. I had my arms around her, holding her close. She'd stopped crying, but she was tired. "Wanna take a nap, Leah?" I asked.

She nodded. "Alright." I whispered.

I gently rubbed her arm, trying to help her fall asleep. I guess it worked, because a few minutes later, she was asleep. I sat and watched her. It was the first time I'd seen her sleep since I was in the hospital. She was finally getting some well deserved sleep. Good for her.

I decided I would try and sleep too. If I couldn't, I'd lay awake next to Leah. The soft sound of her breathing slowly lulled me to sleep. I felt too awake to sleep, but I did anyway. Leah would be awake soon.

When I woke up an hour later, Leah was standing in the corner of her room. Sleepiness hung over me like a curtain, trying to pull me back under. I fought to stay awake. I looked at Leah. "Leah?"

"Hmm?" she replied.

"What are you doing over there?" I asked.

"I....I don't know." she said plainly.

I stared at her. She walked toward me. I rolled over onto my side. Leah sat on the bed. "How did I get over there?"

Precious Memories (8)

About two days later, the doctor decided I was well enough to go home with someone to take care of me. I beamed as Leah took me out to her car in a wheelchair. Leah already had her lisence, so she drove us back to my apartment. I realized that it was almost the 30th. That was an important day.

In the car on the way home, I asked Leah, "Did you remember that Hannah was coming home on the 30th?"

She pulled into a parking spot. "Um, no. Why?"

I unbuckled my seatbelt. "That's only 2 weeks away. Maybe she'll let you..... Never mind."

Leah came around to my side of the car and opened the door. "No, Danny. Tell me."

I smiled mischeviously. "I'l tell you inside.

Leah helped me into the house and took me to the couch. I laid down and propped my feet up. Leah sat on the floor in front of the couch. "So, Daniel. What were you going to tell me?"

"Oh, yes. Leah, will you....." I was cut off by someone banging violently on the door.

Leah got up and walked to the door. She looked through the peephole and sighed. I watched as she unlocked the door. When she opened it, her brother Jax was standing there. "Leah, mom wants to know if you two wanna come hang at our house until Danny's better."

"Sure Jax, why not?" Leah replied, walking to the couch and helping me up.

Jax carried me to Leah's car. He set me in the front seat and I buckled the seatbelt. He got back into his own car and we drove to Leah's house.

When we pulled into the driveway, Leah's mom sat in a rocking chair on the front porch. Leah and Jax helped me up the drive and onto the porch. "Hi, Daniel." Leah's mom greeted me.

I smiled. "Hi, Mrs. Page."

"Let me get that door for you, sweetie." she said, opening the front door. Jax and Leah carried me into their house.

"Danny, since Jax doesn't have any more room in his bedroom, you'll be staying in Leah's room. Leah, take him up there." Leah's mom said, smiling.

I smiled, too. I'm staying in my girlfriend's bedroom. For weeks. Until my big sister, Hannah, comes back from her trip to Costa Rica. She'd been gone all summer. I didn't miss her.

I thought as Jax and Leah carried me up the stairs. I remembered suddenly who Caylee really was. Caylee was Hannah's best friend. She was supposed to go to Costa Rica with Hannah. But she partied all night long and drank until she was sick. She was so hungover in the morning, she missed her flight. And she was mad.

Not mad at herself for partying, but mad at Hannah for leaving without her. I was happy for Hannah. She finally got to go on a trip without our adults bugging her. She was now 21 years old. Old enough to take care of us when our parents died.

They were in a horrible car crash when I was about 12. I was now 15. Every year, dealing with adults has gotten harder. Whether they want us to do things, or they ask about our parents. It never gets easier.

Caylee was one of the people that refused to leave us alone about Mom and Dad. She insisted that we should hold a seance and see if they were trying to talk to us from beyond the grave. Hannah and I laughed in her face. It offended Hannah a little, but it didn't bother me. Not until Caylee went insane. Trying to break in and conduct a seance every night. Stabbing me. Wanting to hurt Hannah. She'd gone out of control.

The cops had been called more than once, but Caylee made an escape every time.

Suddenly, I was awoken from my trance-like thoughts by Leah's voice. "Danny?"

"Huh? Oh, sorry. I was just thinking." I replied, startled.

"It's alright." Leah replied. I was laying with her on her decently sized queen bed.

She had one hand on my chest. The other arm was behind my head. I smiled at her. She leaned close to me. I felt her breath on my skin. It gave me goosebumps. I felt her lips coming close to mine. I closed my eyes. We kissed.

Then we heard a sound. Someone clearing their throat. We pulled away frantically. Jax was standing at the door. "God, you icky lovebirds."

Leah narrowed her eyes at Jax. "What do you want?"

"Uh, nothing. Just. Where's your Justin Bieber CD?"

"Oh. My. God. Really? You want it?" Leah said, cracking up with laughter.

Jax narrowed his eyes at her. "Haha, very funny. Now give it to me!"

"For what, your sick little fantasies?" Leah retorted.

"Eh, no. I just wanted to...Oh, never mind! I've got YouTube for this." Jax said, walking out.

He'd closed the door behind him. Good. Now Leah and I were alone. We kissed again. "Danny?" Leah said.

"Yes, babe?" I replied.

"Who is Caylee? Why'd she stab you?"

I'd known this was coming. I closed my eyes and swallowed. "Well....."

Precious Memories (7)~Danny's POV

Leah had been in the hospital with me for two and a half weeks. Today, after I woke up, I asked Leah, "Babe, why don't you go home and get some sleep?"

She looked at me. "Danny, I wouldn't leave you here alone. Besides, I'd miss you too much."

I smiled. "But Leah! I want you to get some sleep!"

She smiled back. "Danny, I do sleep. Alright?"

I frowned. She didn't really sleep all that much. I could tell by the look she gave me. I looked away. "Danny, are you alright?" Leah asked, putting a hand on my shoulder.

"No." I replied.

"Will you talk to me?" she asked.

"No." I replied.

She frowned and sighed. "Oh."

I heard her get up. She walked toward the door. I heard it open. Then it closed. I looked around. She was gone. I frowned. I hadn't meant for her to get mad and leave.

I lay there, alone in the silence. The hospital room was suddenly very cold and lonely without Leah. I began to think. I wondered if Leah was mad at me. I wouldn't talk to her because I was worried. She took it the wrong way.

Three hours passed before there was a familiar knock at the door. I whispered, "C-come in."

Leah opened the door. She walked toward the bed and sat down in her chair. "I'm sorry."

"You're sorry? Leah, I'm sorry." I whispered, my voice hoarse.

Leah looked at me. She took my hand into hers. "Danny...you don't have to be worry about me. I sleep. I eat. I'm not going to wither away and die while you're in the hospital."

"Leah, I worry about you because you're my girlfriend. Not because I believe you're going to magically poof out of existance...." I whispered, my voice still hoarse.

I looked at Leah. She smiled at me. "I love you, Danny."

Precious Memories [6]~Leah's POV

After I kissed Danny, everything was spinning. My life had drastically changed over the course of two weeks, all of which I spent in this dreadful hospital. The cold white walls made it harder to want to stay.

Seeing Danny laying in a hospital bed, motionless, for two weeks slowly killed me inside. I felt like he should wake up. I knew he would. But then the doctor came. He said that Danny might not make it. The blood loss was a lot to take for Danny's 15 year old body.

I cried. Every night I had to watch Danny like that, I cried. I prayed to God. Asked Him to bring my Daniel back to me safely. God answered my prayers. He brought me Danny. And I brought Danny love.

Danny was slowly slipping back into the dark cover of sleep that clouded over his eyes. He had deep dark circles and his eyes had lost their lovely glow. Danny needed sleep. But he refused to leave me alone in the silence.

I reassured him. Told him I'd be okay. And now, I was rubbing his chest with my hand. He was gradually slipping. His eyes closed. I placed my hand over his heart, feeling the steady beat beneath my fingers. He lay motionless, breathing calmly and steadily.

I listened to the sound I missed. I'd been left alone in the hospital a few days ago. They performed another surgery on Daniel, trying to stitch the wound properly. The first time, they failed. The second time was a success.

But while I was alone in the hospital, I realized that the most precious sound I'd ever heard was Daniel breathing. I yearned to hear it again. Hear the soft inhale and the strong exhale. Watch his chest rise and fall with each breath he took. Each breath meant he would live a little longer.

He was a fighter, surviving through being stabbed by Caylee. He told me he fought through it for me. I dont know if he means it, but he was sweet enough to tell me that. I knew I was lucky Danny had pulled through at all. Why question it?

Precious Memories [5]

It felt like hours before my eyes opened again. The ceiling flashed as a bright white. I blinked a few times, trying to focus on the ceiling tiles above me. I looked to my right, where Leah had sat before. She was gone.

"Leah?" I called, looking around.

She wasn't there. I saw the brown door in front of me. The door was closed. There was a remote near my hand. I grabbed it and turned the TV in the room on. Regular Show was on. I watched contently, barely focusing on the show.

There was a small, shy knock at the door. It opened. It was Leah. She looked sad as she entered. But when she saw that I was awake, her face lit up like a Christmas tree.

"Danny! You're awake!" she exclaimed, running to my bedside.

I smiled, wanting to sit up. I tried, and pain shot through my abdomen. I winced in pain, the intensity too much for me to handle. "Daniel, take it easy." Leah warned, gently pushing me back against the bed.

Leah sat next to me, holding my hand in the silence. It was almost as though my life was repeating. The silence was piercing. With each minute that passed, I felt the pain in my abdomen lessen. The time slowly ticking past was almost a pain reliever on its own.

Finally, the silence was too much to bear. I breathed. "Leah?"

"Yeah?" Leah replied, looking up at me.

"I....I love you." I said, looking into her tired green eyes.

"I...love you too, Daniel."

I smiled, knowing what I'd said was true. Leah beamed with happiness. "Leah, you have no idea....I pulled through for you. I wanted to feel your lips on mine again."

"Danny, you fought through all of that...for me? You could've let go, and rested with the sweet Lord." Leah reminded.

"I love you too much to die. I did it for you. Without you, I would've let go. I would've let myself die. But I have you. And that's a reason to fight." I told her, smiling and looking at her lips.

"Daniel! Stop staring at my lips!" Leah exclaimed, playfully smacking my arm.

"Kiss me first, and then we'll talk." I teased.

"Fine!"

Leah leaned in toward me. I felt her cool breath on my face. She kissed my lips gently for a moment, then pulled away. I smiled in satisfaction. Even though I was trapped in a hospital, I felt at home with Leah's lips on mine.
