Precious Memories

Hey-
So I wanted to post a story on Quizilla, but my phone won't let me do that, so I'm gonna write it here.
Bye!

Lightning flashed, illuminating the inside of the dark apartment I stood in. I faced the window in front of me, yanking up the blinds so I could watch the storm unfolding in front of me. The sky was gray, full of clouds and rain. The raindrops thudded heavily on the window pane, causing curiosity.
I reached my hand out, pressing it against the once pristine glass. The window was cold. With each drop that fell upon the glass, I felt the thud in my fingertips. I pulled my hand away, turning around to leave. "Going somewhere, Daniel?"
I looked up, noticing the girl with pale white skin and brown hair. Her green eyes stood out. I glanced at the front door, knowing my chance to escape had passed. I frowned. "Unfortunately, no."
"Daniel, you can't run from me. Now, tell me where you were going." she said, walking toward me, arms outstretched.
"Caylee, I told you. I wasn't going anywhere!" I said calmly, closing my eyes.
"Closing your eyes, huh. I know what that means. Daniel, you're lying to me." Caylee said, placing her hand on my shoulder.
I opened my eyes and looked around. Caylee was nowhere to be seen. I walked toward the door, not bothering to grab an umbrella. I entered the pouring rain and stood outside for a moment, realizing that the cold was too much for me to handle. "Daniel, where are you going?" Caylee called from behind me.
"Dang it, Caylee! I'm NOT GOING ANYWHERE!!" I yelled, refusing to face the pale girl. I stared up at the sky, letting the rain fall on my bare skin and soak my clothes.
I looked around. My car was parked in front of me, but I didn't grab my keys and get in. I looked down at the gray sidewalk, watching the rain pool into large puddles. It was silent. Then, I heard the sound of footsteps. Someone was running toward me. I turned to find Leah sprinting toward me.
"Leah? What are you *doing* out here? You're gonna get sick!" I told her, giving her a hug.
"Yeah, Danny. So are you. Being a boy doesn't give you a sudden immunity to the rain. And neither does being a skater." Leah replied, pulling away from the hug.
I smiled. "I never said I was immune. I just don't care if I get sick. Things are always gonna get worse."
Leah shivered, noticing her sweatshirt was completely soaked. "Can we go in? Please, Daniel."
"Call me Daniel again and I'll kick you out. Yes. Let's go in before you get sick, Leah." I replied, wrapping one arm around her and leading her to the front door of the apartment I'd just abandoned.
I pushed open the door. Leah walked in first, hoping she'd get warmer being in there. I prayed that Caylee was gone, even though I hadn't seen her leave. Leah sat on the couch, unlacing her black high tops. I took them from her and tossed them in the hall closet. I stood up on the couch and jumped. Hard.
"Jeez, Danny! When did you turn 5....again?" Leah exclaimed sarcastically.
"When I stopped being 4!" I yelled, jumping of the couch and landing a few feet in front of Leah.
"Danny, you're 15! When are you going to stop acting like you're 2?"
"When I turn 3." I replied, laughing at my little joke.
I looked at Leah. She wasn't laughing. She was staring at me. I looked away. "Is something wrong, Leah? Did my little joke huwt your feewings?"
"No, Daniel. I just....thought you'd be a little more mature. Obviously, I was wrong." she said, standing up and walking toward the door.
I stood there, watching as the girl I loved walked away. I ran after her. "You forgot your shoes, oh smart one!"
"Dang...I did!" Leah exclaimed, running back toward the open door.
I closed the door and locked it. Leah looked at me. I smiled. She just walked away. "Leah, tell me what's wrong!" I demanded, following her.
"Gee, Danny. I don't know if you've noticed, but i've kinda been in love with you since the fifth freaking grade! And when I come here, thinking maybe you'd have noticed, you totally fail me." Leah said, looking out the window.
I frowned. I knew she was right. "I'm sorry, Leah. I've been acting like a child. How bout I make this better." I whispered, walking up behind her and wrapping my arms around her, holding her in a gentle embrace.
"Danny? Wh-why are you doing this? Do you actually love me? Or do you feel bad for your best friend?" Leah whispered.
I turned her around. "If I didn't love you, would I do this?" I replied, kissing her.
Leah blushed. I smiled, satisfied with the results of my kiss. "I guess not, Danny." she said, smiling.
"Well, folks, there you have it. Leah Page finally believes that I, Daniel Gates, am in love with her." I said, pretending to be an announcer for a minute.
"God, Danny. You are such a dork!" Leah giggled.
"Yeah, but I'm your dork, Leah."
