It's Unfair

Alright, so you're in that weird part of life where you don't know where you fit in. Finally, you figure out that the people you're most like are the scene kids. You slowly ease yourself into the style in the  hopes you won't be called a poser. You fit in perfectly. For once, you have friends who are just like you.

Your parents told you before that you just had to find the place where you fit in. Finally you have. But something's wrong.

Your mom tells you to get ready one morning, so you run into the bathroom and tease your hair, just like you like it. And when you walk out, your mom totally disapproves and says, "You look stupid. You aren't going out like that."

What do you do? You obey your mom. You don't want to get in trouble, now, do you? You're really mad. But you untease your hair and walk back out with the flattest hair possible.

You go out with your mom to wherever you need to go. When you get home, your mom asks you if you want to go hang out with your scene friends. You say no. She asks you why and you tell her that she doesn't approve of how you dress around them, your real friends, and she doesn't approve of how you do your hair, either. She says, "Fine, today do it, but that's the last time. You won't ever leave my house looking that stupid ever again."

Now you're really mad. You tell her you aren't going and walk off. You reach your room, and by now, you're crying. You can't disobey her. She's your mom. But you know where you fit in. If she doesn't support you, you still want to be with your friends and still fit in, right? So what do you do?

I don't know. I'm asking my readers to tell me. What do you do when your mom/dad disapproves of the way you dress/talk/act/etc.? All of this actually happened to me today. I'm very very mad. If I can't be me then who am I supposed to be? My mother? For right now, I'm going easy on the teasing && the makeup && all that. Hopefully, she'll start to understand scene culture, but until then, I don't think I can continue to be Neon Natalie on this blog. And I'm sorry for disappointing my readers if I can't write more.
