Hey, guys. It's Neon. Yesterday's post (this one), is about something serious, as are most of my posts. This was supposed to be posted yesterday, but I had to babysit. So I'm posting it today.

Ok, so as the title says, music is my life. I'm not kidding when I say this. A lot of things in my life have to do with music. I'm a singer/songwriter, and I've been singing since I was really little. I started singing karaoke when I was about 6 or 7. Well, I really liked it. And after some years of vocal development, I have grown to like performing in front of people that aren't family. I love performing for my family still, but there's a certain rush for performing in front of total strangers, especially when it's a song you've been working on for so long.
Now, I still have problems with singing. I have partial hearing loss, so that can make hitting notes I can't hear that well really hard. When I perform, the music needs to be really loud in my ears so I can hear my notes. It's not easy to sing when hearing is hard. Sometimes, it's a major setback.
Also, since I'm only 12, my voice is changing. This is not a fun time for singing. My voice cracks and all that jazz ALL the time. It's sorta stupid, but I gotta push through it. Finish my song and get off stage. That's it.
I play keyboard and piano as well. I'm learning guitar, but that's a process that could take forever. No kidding. I'm really bad at the guitar, but I play piano okay. I'm not going to say I'm some sort of prodigee, because I'm really not. I'm not even a really good player, much less a prodigee.
Songwriting. Don't ask me how I do it. It's a really long process and it's been forever since I wrote a song. The last song I wrote was called Home. It was a song about how, as a military kid, I don't know where my home is. I wrote it when we were about to move again. We were moving from Las Vegas to New Mexico. I was really scared. So I sat down and sang the first thing that came to mind, which was:
Where is my home? The place where I'll stay...
And I just expanded off of that.
Even besides my music and how it plays in my life, my friends are all musically talented. Most of my friends are singer/songwriters. I do have some friends who play instruments. Being around music pretty much all the time really pushes me to be like my favorite artists some day. I usually sit and wish I could sing like Carrie Underwood or something, but I know if I keep working at my singing and songwriting, I could get really good. Maybe good enough to be a professional singer.
That's pretty much all I have to say for this post. Oh, and just in case people wonder what kind of music I listen to, here are some bands/artists that I like:
Black Veil Brides
Carrie Underwood
Forever the Sickest Kids
Miley Cyrus
Katy Perry
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
Britany Spears
Lady Gaga (I'm a little monster)
Nicki Minaj
Rihanna
Taylor Swift
Paramore
Miranda Lambert
Jennette McCurdy
Those are just a few. I'm really trying to get listening to more bands like:
As I Lay Dying
Bring Me the Horizon
The Devil Wears Prada
Asking Alexandria
Misfits
Those are just a few bands I'm going to look at. Check em out if you'd like. Feel free to comment and I'll totally reply, eventually.
Stay True To You
